Learn how scientists extract fossils from rocks in the laboratories below our gallery

Fossil club

The best way for kids to learn all about fossils!

Taught by qualified palaeontologists, activities include laboratory sessions, field trips, crafts, microscope tuition, and much more!


Sessions are only £8 an hour for children.


Sessions every Sunday;

10am - 11am for ages 5-7

11am - 12pm for ages 7-10

12pm - 1pm for ages 11-12

Want to take part in an experience unique to our museum?


Join us in a UV tour of our Earth Science collection. Every Saturday & Sunday at 3pm, the experience is free for everyone with a valid museum entry ticket.
